Rocky Mountain Wiccan Temple dissolved

The Rocky Mountain Wiccan Temple has officially dissolved; the board felt that the group had outlived its usefulness. Unmentioned in the dissolution notice (or at least, the one that I saw) was the fact that support for the group in both monetary terms and participation were down.

Fortunately, for those in the Denver area interested in open (public) wiccan and pagan rituals, there is still Hearthstone Community Church.

  1. Sorry to hear this, Brother. However, I do understand the necessity of dissolution at times. I think the monetary issue can be worked around, but lack of participation cannot. There's only so long a member or two can carry an Order/Temple before it becomes obvious that dissolution is essential.

  2. I was not heavily involved in the RMWT (it tended to conflict with my schedule), but I am worried about Hearthstone for the same reasons. Of course, I am amazed that Bast Temple is still around after eight years; there have been a couple of times when the lodge has been close to dissolving; but each time, it has been side-stepped.

  3. Ave Morgan,

Yes, I suppose the same potential problems lie with Heartstone too. Surely some of the RMWT ex-members would migrate over to Heartstone, however, if they're not members already?

As for Bast, I'm glad it's still going strong, and I wish it another 8 years, at least, of prosperous growth (or, at the very least, prosperous side-stepping :P). It's a tough time for the lodge system in general, so it's a blow to the entire community when another temple closes its doors. All you need are a couple of dedicated members, however, to keep things going.

    Dean.
