Happy Tax Horror Day 2011
Happy Tax Horror Day 2011! If you haven't done your taxes yet, you just have a couple of hours to do so. I did my own on Friday, April 15th. But this year, the IRS deadline is actually today, Monday the 18th, due to Friday being a holiday in Washington DC (it was news to me too---Emanipation Day). I took a picture of the line at the post office. This is what the line typically looks like at this particular post office. I will admit that I spend a lot of time doing walking mediation while I am at this post office. I am glad that I am not there today---I assume that the line is longer today. It would be a really llllooooooooonnnnnggg mediation today.

Just breathe
One of the most useful techniques of the esoteric traditions (in my less than humble opinion) is the simple act of breathing. You can do it anywhere and at anytime.
In the grocery store line
Waiting in rush hour traffic
During those pesky TV commericals
While feeding the cat(s)
Listening to someone pour out their heart
Rolling your eyes at someone's blog post
Remember, the goal of life is to keep breathing as long as possible.

Quote of the day: Case on the potential of meditation
Randomly reading Paul Foster Case's Wisdom of the Tarot (The Golden Dawn Tarot Series 1), I ran across today's quote on mediation. Case writing about the Star says:
Aquarius is jointly ruled by Uranus and Saturn. These two are the first and last Keys of the Tarot Major Trumps, The Fool and The World. This is a sufficient hint that the practice of meditation will eventually bring about the answers to every question, from the most abstract to the most concrete. There are many other interesting ideas arising out of this co-rulership. See if you can follow some of them out by meditating upon them.
