I am not sure what this cat is dressed up as. Perhaps they are a wizard? Or maybe a vampire? Fairy tale princess? Annoyed cat? Probably the latter. Someone please send a rescue party to save this poor cat from its owners.

This picture makes my cats scratching the sofa seem just normal, doesn't it? This is one freaky looking cat, and it is not in costume. It is looks like it is trying to suck the stuffing out of the sofa. Paging Dracula, or is it Dr. Evil?, come and get your cat.

At least, he is not covered with glitter.

Beware of vampire kitties. They are savage and cruel. And nothing like the New Age Teen Angst vampires of Twilight and the Vampire Diaries. If you do not believe me, come back tomorrow and see Dracula's cat (or is it Doctor Evil's?). There is not a bit of sparkly glitter anyway on the real vampiric kitties.

Is Nicolas Cage an Alchemist?

Nicolas Cage has been around for a long time, hasn't he?

For those of you who missed it, last week a photograph went up for auction on eBay. It was a photo that was found in an album of civil war era pictures (1870s), complete with an unusual number of death shots (whatever that means to a non-historian). It was the only photo that did not identify the person in the shot. But never fear---the eBay seller jack_mord knows who it is.

It is Nicolas Cage.

And how is this possible? How could a picture of Nicolas Cage exist in an album of civil war era pictures. Simple, according to jack_mord, Nicolas Cage is "some sort of walking undead/vampire, et cetera, who quickens/reinvents himself once every 75 years or so. 150 years from now, he might be a politician, the leader of a cult, or a talk show host.”

There are just a couple of problems with this vampire theory. One, the photo itself---ain't vampires supposed to be invisible to film? Two, Nicolas Cage has been out and about in the daytime---shouldn't he be a little crispy and deep fried after being exposed to sunlight?

So alas, Nicolas Cage is not a vampire.

But never fear, the Amazing Golden Dawn Newshound that I am knows the truth about this photo.

Nicolas Cage is an alchemist who has been kicking around since before the civil war.

My proof for this theory is the fact that a few years ago, Nicolas Cage admitted on a late night talk show that he was interested in 17th century German philosophy. We all know what that means---Nicolas Cage has been studying the Rosicrucians and their amazing life-extending alchemical techniques.

I guess that Nicolas Cage forgotten the first rule of being an immortal alchemist---do not allow any records to exist that proclaim your immortality. The Third Order is obviously upset---the photo with its million dollar asking price has been removed from the listings on eBay.

Crowleys Heresy

Apologies to all; this post might be more suitable to my Nerd Blog, but I figure the audience here will get a bigger chuckle from this post. And yes, I am sorry...I play Zynga's Vampire Wars on Facebook (small problem with not being able to sleep if I do studying or writing at a late hour; therefore, I play games on social networks).

The latest Limited Edition Ability Set to be won in Akem's Gamble (drum roll please): Crowley's Heresy

Yep, in the world of Vampire Wars, Crowley is a heretic. Go figure.

It is a typical Limited Ability Set (twenty days to collect the full set).

The first ability is Aiwass' Beckoning. Available January 5, 2010 to January 25, 2010. Aiwass' Beckoning is a movement ability (86 attack, 82 defense).

The second ability is Aeon of Isis. Available January 9, 2010 to January 25, 2010. Aeon of Isis is a defensive ability (66 attack, 102 defense).

The third ability is Aeon of Horus. Available January 14, 2010 to January 25, 2010. Aeon of Horus is a DEFENSIVE ability (63 attack, 105 attack).

Yes, you heard me right; Aeon of Horus is Defensive. But wait, it gets better.

The fourth ability is Aeon of Osiris. Available January 19, 2010 to January 25, 2010. Aeon of Osiris is an OFFENSIVE ability (101 attack, 67 defense).

Yes, that is right. The silly people at Zynga have (for one reason or another) decided that Horus is more defensive, and Osiris is more offensive. And so it goes. Oh well, it is just a silly game.

As always with the Limited Edition Ability sets, if by some miracle (or if you have a lot of favor points to burn, typically brought with hard cold cash), if you manage to collect all four of the abilities, you get a special ability as a capstone prize. In the case of the Crowley's Heresy Limited Edition Set, the big bonus ability is Master Therion (illustrated with a picture of the infamous Aleister Crowley making shadow puppets on the wall), an offensive ability that grants 183 attack and 82 defense.

I wonder what Crowley would say.
