Space Force assemble! (Let us mess up that sci-fi novel you are working on)

Coming soon to a reality near you: Space Force!

Do you worry about the Chinese putting military assets in space? Do you worry about aliens showing up from outer space and requesting asylum? Are you worried that you might be replaced by a species with more arms than you have? Are you worried that you might not be able to collect taxes in space?

Never fear--Space Force is here!

Or as I like to call it--a fucking organization that totally messes up the outline of the science fiction series that I am writing. Damn you Mister President.

But let's be honest, shall we?

The American tax payer has no stomach to pay the massive cost of equipping a Space Force. The odds of us having a sixth branch of the military is nil next to none. If America had the will to deal with the massive cost of space exploration and exploitation, we would already have both a Lunar and Mars colony. There is a reason why private businesses are taking over space--and it is because you can't get the elected government of the United States to touch it with a ten foot pole. Maybe if it was a totalitarian government, or we had a smoking gun that China had military assets in space, we would get there--but with our current government? Highly unlikely.

If you don't believe me, consider NASA budget. Does it look like we care about outer space?

Unfortunately, as a science fiction writer, I have to give it some mental bandwidth. What if Trump could actually make it happen? Uh, yes...that would totally destroy the setup for Icarus.

(Basically Icarus is a world with a thousand people and limited resources in space--and no open military presence--there is a military presence, but it is secret and hidden and extremely small. There is no large military presence in the Icarus universe to save the day...which is why my characters are faced with such a big problem when the shit hits the fan.)

Fortunately for me, Space Force looks like it is in the same probability box as building that big beautiful war. Costs will trump the idea that winning space wars is easy. I could be wrong, but I am betting against it happening.

Coming soon to a reality where the Space Force did not happen.

Your attention please. Here is an important announcement. Buttons should not be read as political statements. Any citizen doing so will declared unmutual. Any unsocial incident involving such an unmutual citizen should be reported immediately to the Appeals Subcommittee. Thank you for your attention.

I am not saying that we all are prisoners...

Odd video (Morgan discovers Wormholes on Flat Earth)

If you are ever curious why I became a satire sci-fi/fantasy writer, just remember that strange thoughts come to me, and then stick around. Like this idea that came about while reading a Facebook post about an airflight that did not take the direct route over the North Pole that the Flat Earther assumed that the plane should take (because it was the shortest path...let's ignore safety concerns there), and which did not take as long as the Flat Earther was told...all proof that the Earth is really flat and not a round sphere. After the strange idea showed up, and made my mind just go around and around, I decided to make a short video to get it out of my head (under two minutes!)--which worked so well that I now have several pages of notes for a story called Flat Earth Science! And my notes are still growing...which may just be another aspect of Wormholes interacting with a Flat Earth.

Obama has a time machine (the shocking proof)

At the Republican National Convention tonight, the lovely and super intelligent wife of the greatest President-to-be, Melania Trump gave a great speech. A speech that she and a political writer spent five weeks working on. And it was such a good speech, so perfect for helping one's husband get elected that Michelle Obama stole it and went back in time, using the super secret Presidential time machine, and gave the speech herself eight years ago. That is right, the Obama have access to a time machine and they are using it to make Melania Trump look like a word thief.

Totally false, Melania Trump did it much better than that ugly black girl did.
Yes, what more proof do you need that the Obama and his wife are completely evil, and that only the great and honorable Donald Trump can save us from them? What are they going to do next? Go back in time and prevent the Twenty-second Amendment from being ratified? It could happen. After all, we all know that Obama wants to have a third term as President, and if he could get elected for a third term that would remove the need to declare martial law and take away all your guns. Though he will still come for your guns because it is super-fun, but it is even better if he is already President-for-Life.

(The XXII Amendment is the nasty one that says you are only allowed to serve two terms as President. And it is a bigger problem for Obama than Trump. After all, much of the United States has been nuked by atomic weapons in the Great Mexican Muslim Rebellion by the time it comes time for Trump to get elected for a third term--by that point, the Constitution has been voted out of existence by a fanatic Congress who sees Trump as their only hope. Read your future history books people!)

So here we have the shocking proof that Obama is testing a time machine to wreck havoc on our country. How very Muslim of him!

See Michelle Obama copied Melania Trump's exact words.
And you know that it is true because there is no way that Donald Trump and his wife, Melania, would ever steal anything from Obama. It has to be Obama and his wife who are the guilty parties here.

And if you think that there might be some chance of Melania could be the guilty one---how dare you! She is a beautiful white gal with a charming accent. There is no way that she would do such an evil deed. It has to be the black woman and her husband. You know it deep in your honest Republican bones. So quick, go get your guns---you need to rush to the White House and capture that time machine before Obama goes back in time and causes the South to lose the Civil War.

Ewok teddy bear cat (31 Days of Halloween Kitties Day 14 Year 3)

It is an ewok, teddy bear cat.
I think that this is a cat. Or maybe an ewok. Or maybe a teddy bear. Or maybe Big Foot's lovechild. Honestly, I am not really sure what it is. But I am betting that it is just a rather strange looking cat...and if I am wrong, and it is an evil alien in disguise, just run screaming down the street and I am sure that I will get the message also.

Splitting the timeline (Tarot Blog Hop)

A Tarot spread for when you have multiple possible courses of action.
Welcome to the Yule 2012 Tarot Blog Hop. If you are reading this, then the world did not end yesterday...and it is time to consider what you are going to do with the coming year.

If you are doing the Tarot Blog Hop, then odds are you just came from Fool Stop--the official blog of U.S. Games (oh yeah, the kind people who supply us Tarot readers with almost half of our Tarot decks...or maybe that is just me). If you are one of my regular readers, then you probably arriving here from St. Andrew's Academy and Library for Misplaced Spells, where initated secrets go to hide.

Now, if you are anything like me, the start of a new year makes you look at certain things in your life, things that need to be dealt with. For me, this coming year is all about the writing and certain other creative endeavors. But I do have a certain problem--there are so many projects to deal with, or that I could be doing, that I am not sure what project needs to become my priority.

In an ideal world, I would have access to a time machine and I would hop into the future to peek at which one I did. And being a Virgo, I would also want to look at several alternate timelines. I don't want to just blindly pick an option, or settle for just one. No, I want to know what all the options were and their respective outcomes. Did I mention that I am a Virgo? A Virgo that just happens to be a science fiction fan?

Anyways, I do not have access to a time machine...this makes me sad.

But I do have access to a magical tool that does allow me to peek into the future, and to weigh multiple courses of action. Yes, that is right--I am about to abuse a Tarot deck in a weird time splitting experiment.

I call this spread--The Time Split, for it allows one to see possible outcomes for multiple options and choices of behavior. It involves at least eight cards for two possible options, with additions of three cards apiece for each additional option beyond the initial two.

The first card of the spread is the current situation (this card can be either randomly choosen or pre-selected). The second card (random draw) provides more information about the current situation.

It is the third card that we start to deal with the various options that are open to us; the "option" cards (3rd, 6th, and so forth) can be either randomly choosen or pre-selected--the choice will depend on how clear you are about possible options available. (A clear-cut list is better dealt with using pre-selected cards; if one has no clue what options are available, randomly drawn cards are the way to go.) The third card (as well as the 6th, and so forth) represent one possible course of action.

The fourth and fifth card (as well as 7th and 8th, and so forth) are randomly drawn.

The fourth card represents additional information about the option in question. In the case of a randomly drawn Option card, it might help verify the option. In the case of pre-selected Option card, it might call attention to complications that Option would require in order to be implimented.

The fifth card represents the most likely outcome if the Option is taken. Always bear in mind that this outcome depends upon the implimentation of the Option under consideration. Also remember that the very act of looking at a possible future changes the future.

Cards three, four and five represent one Option. Cards six, seven and eight would represent a second Option. One can add additional rows of three cards to cover additional Options. (My experience says to limit the number of Options to five--anything beyond that tends to be overkill and quite confusing to keep straight. Ideally, it should be two or three Options considered in a reading.)

So there you have it, the Time Split, the Tarot spread that I am currently using to try to figure out the best option for my business to be focused on in the upcoming year. And yes, it probably will involve monkeys (regular readers will understand why).

If you are continuing with the Tarot Blog Hop, your next stop is the blog of Joanna Ash--Sun Goddess Tarot. And if there are any breaks (broken links) in the Tarot Blog Hop, the Master List can be found at This Game of Thrones. My regular readers will go back to annoying the librarian to let them into the forbidden section where all the really good secrets are hidden. Happy Yule, Merry Xmas, and Happy New Year (and whatever other holidays I am forgetting) to everyone!

Mocking Ancient Aliens

Didn't Stargate tell us this fact about Ancient Aliens?!
Today over on Smosh, there is an article called The Six Things I Learned from Watching Ancient Aliens. The really funny part is how the History Channel is defining the terms "expert," "proof' and "science." Of course, their idea of "history" has became a little fuzzy also...it is sad when occultists have a more realistic defintion of the the term.

Now, I know that some occultists believe in the Ancient Alien Astronaut theory, and that humans are the result of their DNA research and that aliens jump-started human civilization. Heck, for many years I did a lot of reading in that field...for some reason, the Brush High School library had a complete set of Erich von Daniken's Chariot of the Gods series. But if you are exposed to enourgh mysteries, after awhile the whole Ancient Alien Astronaut theory starts to look a little cracked.

The day I realized this was a few years ago, after long amounts of Stargate SG1 and entry into an Inner Order pretending to be the RR et AC, when I picked up one of Daniken's books (I forget which one) and he asks the question, "What is the secret of the magician's wand?" I must admit that I laugh every time I think about it.

The field has not changed that much since Daniken's day. The idea is to assume that human beings are incapable of stacking rocks onto other rocks and that no ancient human being ever took any drugs; if you can make those two assumptions and ignore all the six year-olds that you ever meet, then you too can buy into the Ancient Alien Astronaut theory.

The following are the assumptions made by Ancient Alien Astronaut theory:

All buildings are alien landing pads. Humans were incapable of coming up with the idea of roofs, temples or pyramids on their own.

Human beings were the result of alien DNA research. We would never consider screwing mutants on our own---no matter how cute they are.

Humans beings were incapable of taming animals, inventing farming, and using tools on thier own. Obviously, ants, monkeys and crows are more intelligent than humans.

All gods and goddesses are badly drawn pictures of alien spacesuits and rockets. All mythology, including the Bible, are just badly garbled accounts of what aliens did to humans.

Humans were incapable of inventing math and writing on their own. Please ignore Einstein and Hawkings.

And most importantly, ancient alien astronauts preferred using human labor and native materials (rocks and stone chisels), and did not use automated factories and plastics. Aliens invented the concept of "going green."

All these statements are also true of the ancient Atlantians, time-traveling reptiles, and the Babylonian Secret Chiefs. And the lack of evidence of Ancient Alien Astronauts, Atlantians, time-traveling reptiles and Babylonian Secret Chiefs is actually evidence that they did exist.

31 Days of Halloween Kitties Day 24

It is steam punk biker kitty.
I have been reading too much steam punk lately. How do I know? Well, this biker kitty looks like a steam punk kitty to me. Or maybe an atomic punk kitty. Can you picture him on a bike, armed with missiles and big machine guns shooting mutants and gasoline thieves in a post atomic holocaust world. I can. Oh dear, now I have the urge to stay home today and write a sciene fiction story rather than go to my college classes.

31 Days of Halloween Kitties Day 23

Beware the invasion of the kitty snatchers.
Oh no, the alien pod invasion has begin---and they got to your cat! Poor kitty has been cloned by the insidious alien pod people from outer space. Now, the alien invaders will have a spy in your home, checking out all your closets, tasting your food (and perhaps you), and coughing up hairballs in your shoes. And there is nothing that you can do about it---because alien pod kitty is so cute, though he does look a little like a pumpkin.

31 Days of Halloween Kitties Day 20

Dracula's cat perhaps?
This picture makes my cats scratching the sofa seem just normal, doesn't it? This is one freaky looking cat, and it is not in costume. It is looks like it is trying to suck the stuffing out of the sofa. Paging Dracula, or is it Dr. Evil?, come and get your cat.
