A little explanation is probably in order. Growing up as a kid, I was the oldest of eight kids in a very poor family, and my birthday was sacrificed to save money for other problems, so I never really got into the habit of celebrating birthdays. My wife finds my attitude towards birthdays strange; so being the person that I am, I tend to make jokes about not celebrating birthdays.
